Governor Brian Kemp has proclaimed March 1, 2024, as Georgia STEM Day, a statewide opportunity for schools, educators, students, and companies to raise awareness by engaging in hands-on activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). On March 1, as part of the STEM Day celebration, the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) encourages Georgians to engage in STEM activities and to encourage students to learn about potential STEM careers.
TAG’s charity foundation, TAG Education Collaborative (TAG-Ed), is hosting a virtual, free event on March 1, featuring various experts from different STEM fields. Georgia STEM Day helps students make the critical connection between classroom studies and future career opportunities by showcasing real-world applications of STEM disciplines in professional settings. Modern and quality STEM education is essential for students’ academic and professional success, and STEM skills are vital for Georgia’s future workforce and economy.
“The Technology Association of Georgia is proud to provide resources and support for the next generation of tech leaders, creating pathways for students to gain well-rounded, career-oriented learning experiences,” said, Larry Williams, President and CEO of the Technology Association of Georgia.
The event’s content is designed to educate and inspire students of all ages who wish to gain a better understanding of potential career paths. From the technology in conservation research presented by the Georgia Aquarium to the exploration of the science of small by the Georgia Tech Research Institute, every session promises valuable insights. By extending STEM-focused initiatives virtually, TAG-Ed can help to empower students from rural and underserved educational systems with quality resources, contributing to the overall development of a diverse and future-ready workforce.
