ATLANTA (November 16, 2022) – Today, TAG Bridge Builders, an initiative of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), introduces TAG Connect, an event that provides opportunities for black technology entrepreneurs in Georgia with access to resources for their business ventures.

TAG Connect is an event that connects black tech entrepreneurs (the seller) with access to procurement opportunities from buyers. The event is designed for the seller to present business services/products to the buyer (6-10 corporations and organizations). In a shark-tank style presentation, each seller will have the opportunity to present their products or services directly to corporate decision-makers.

“TAG is an important component of Georgia’s innovation ecosystem. As such, it is our responsibility to promote social justice and equity in tech.” said TAG President and CEO Larry Williams. “With TAG Connect, we look forward to unleashing the power of procurement to support the growth of black-owned businesses across our state.”

As part of a commitment to removing obstacles from Georgia’s progress in embracing diversity, this program aligns with TAG Bridge Builders’ initiative to promote diversity based on precise metrics that promote accountability. Through the development of talent in the technology sector, the program seeks to bring together the business and technology sectors to drive change and increase the generational wealth of black families in Georgia. For the growth and promotion of 1,000 black people in technology fields over the next five years, TAG Bridge Builders will establish Georgia as a beacon for a model of stability and sustainability.

“By leveraging tools to create wealth, cultivate future leaders, and strengthen communities, our mission is to broaden access to customer acquisition and venture capital to achieve equality among Georgia’s diverse sphere of entrepreneurs,” said Dr. Loretta Daniels, CDP, Director of TAG Bridge Builders.

TAG Connect will be chaired by Georgia technology leaders including Stephen Hassett; Ann McDonald, Director Business Development at Morris Manning & Martin, LLP; Louis Gump, President of Digital Current, LLC; and Larry K. Williams, President & CEO of the Technology Association of Georgia.

Hosted by Comcast, the inaugural TAG Connect event will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at The Battery located in Truist Park. The event will be held from 1:00-6:00 PM. Those interested in attending or presenting can register at the link here.
